Argentinian topped the Liga goalscoring charts for the eighth time with 30 goals in 35 games
Leo Messi has his eighth Pichichi trophy for being the top goalscorer in the 2020/21 Liga season. The Argentinian scored 30 goals in 35 games for FC Barcelona, thus topping Karim Benzema and Gerard Moreno who had 23 each
His previous wins were in 2009/10, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20.
So, not only has Messi won the award eight times, two more than the previous record holder Telmo Zarra, but this was an astonishing fifth in a row.
