Pedri just doesn’t stop breaking record. On Monday he beat Miguel Tendillo’s forty-year old record by becoming the youngest player ever to appear for Spain at the European Championship. But that’s just the latest string on Pedri’s bow.
52 appearances
The Canary Islander by 52 games in all competitions this season, making him the most used player by coach Ronald Koeman. Next on the list were Frenkie de Jong (51), Antoine Griezmann (51), Sergio Busquets (50), Jordi Alba (49), Clément Lenglet (48) and Leo Messi (47).
Second youngest half-ton
The game with Atlético Madrid was Pedri’s 50th for the senior team, He was just 18 years and five months old at the time. Only Bojan Krkic completed his first half-century at a younger age, while Leo Messi is third on the list.
Pedri and Ansu join forces in Europe
Both Pedri and Ansu Fati scored for Barça against Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou, in what was the first time in Champions League history that two players who had yet to turn 18 scored goals in the game.
Fourth youngest goalscorer
Pedri also became the fourth youngest Barça player ever to score a goal in the Spanish top flight when he contributed to the 5-2 defeat of Betis. Ansu holds the overall record, followed by Bojan Krkic and Leo Messi.
