FC Barcelona's office in the United States

The new FC Barcelona office in New York is an emblematic venue right from the outset. It takes up 250 square meters of the twentieth floor of number 250, Park Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares of Manhattan, and is located inside a well-known building in the city, which is also home to the HSBC bank and just three blocks away from the historic Waldorf Astoria hotel.

The office features large-format work areas, meeting rooms and offices, and the décor is one hundred per cent ‘blaugrana’. The main room, designed for the holding of meetings and small scale events, includes a large projector and is overseen by replicas of the Champions League, Copa del Rey and Liga trophies. The floor is covered with an artificial grass carpet, in clear reference to football while also conferring a special warmth upon the venue.

There are constant mentions of Barcelona. At the entrance, visitors are welcomed by an aerial view of the city on the day of the mosaic that the Camp Nou dedicated to Xavi Hernández, the player that has made more first team appearances than any other, while the model of the Espai Barça in the main work area transfers the club’s plan to restructure its stadium right into the heart of the Big Apple.

The hub for corporate sport

The building is located in an area considered the epicenter of corporate sport in New York, for it is here that both the National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) have their head offices. Some of the biggest TV broadcasters in North America and the world also have their main studios in the neighborhood.

The building dates from 1924 and was devised by Cross & Cross Architects. The classic design benefited from the construction of Grand Central Station, which is located right alongside, and through which 750,000 passengers pass every day. What for many years was known as the Postum Building currently has the very best technology, security and air conditioning systems. It is also just a few meters away from subway lines 4,5,6,7 and S to guarantee quick connections with the rest of the city.

With these offices and the ones that the club already has at Queen’s Road Central in Hong Kong, FC Barcelona has consolidated its global dimension by becoming operative all around the planet for 24 hours a day. The club will open up in Hong Kong, continue with its on-going activity in Barcelona and then close the day in New York.
