FC Barcelona wins a 41st European Cup

Following Barça's triumph in the 2020 UEFA Futsal Champions League at the Palau Blaugrana, the club have recorded this figure between the sections

A new milestone. FC Barcelona achieved the club's 41st European Cup this Sunday night, taking into account the premier European competition in each section. Barça Futsal, with the Palau Blaugrana as the venue for the Final Four, won their third Champions League by beating ElPozo 2-1 in the final.

Roller hockey at the top

If we look at the sporting sections of FC Barcelona with the most European Cups, roller hockey stands out, with 22 titles. Edu Castro's men lifted the last edition that was contested, in the 2017/18 season after beating Porto.

They're followed by handball, with nine European Cups and who this December will play in the Final Four from last season in Cologne, football with five and basketball closes the list with two. We must also take into account the 3 European Cups achieved by the youth teams: two UEFA Youth Leagues (2013/14 and 2017/18) and the Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament achieved in 2015/16. Of the 41 European Cups won by the club, 24 of these have been in the 21st century.

From Aitor Egurrola to Sergio Lozano

If we analyse the players with most European titles in the history of the club, the roller hockey goalkeeper Aitor Egurrola leads this classification with 11 titles. He is followed by several hockey players; Sergi Centell (10), Jordi Vila-Puig and Alberto Borregan (9) and Sergi Panadero, David Paéz and José Luis Negro Paéz (8). The Champions League won by Barça futsal means that captain Sergio Lozano has been part of all three futsal teams to have lifted a European title.
